Vision for Education are recruiting for a PRU Class Teacher for an alternative provision setting in Blackpool to start in September 2025 on a full-time basis on a fixed-term basis through to July 2026.
About The Role
The role will be working with secondary aged students (provisionally set for Year 8/9), supporting with pre-planned English, Maths and other pre-planned subject areas. As a PRU Class Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting and facilitating the educational and social development of students with SEND and SEMH needs and challenging behaviours in an alternative provision setting.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver effective and inclusive lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEND learning needs.
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities.
- Create a supportive and nurturing classroom environment that fosters academic progress, emotional well-being, and positive behaviour.
- Collaborate with other teachers and teaching assistants to develop Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and implement strategies for student progress.
- Regularly assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
- Establish strong communication channels with parents, guardians, and external professionals involved in the care and education of students.
- Stay updated with the latest educational practices, policies, and developments in the field of alternative provision teaching, integrating them into your teaching approach.
About The School
This PRU Class Teacher role is an opportunity to work in an incredibly welcoming school provision with some wonderful young people within Blackpool (FY4). The role will entail working with young people with SEND and SEMH learning needs including autism, ADHD and moderate learning needs, alongside challenging behaviours and barriers to learning.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Specialisation or experience in teaching students with SEND, SEMH and barriers to learning.
- Strong knowledge of different teaching strategies, interventions, and resources for secondary aged students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with barriers to learning.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students in an ever-changing educational environment.

Salary
£700 to £1000 per week. Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status and experience teaching in a similar setting.
