The school's most recent Ofsted inspection took place in January 2025, with inspectors judging the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management as Good.
The successful Teacher of History will be responsible for teaching History, so experience teaching History is essential. There may also be some Key Stage 3 Religious Education lessons to pick up, so experience teaching RE would be desirable, although suitable resources will be provided.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Teacher of History seeking a long-term role in Preston, Lancashire, with an immediate start available.
The ideal Teacher of History will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching History within a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge across the History curriculum.
- Experience teaching Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4.
- Experience teaching Key Stage 3 RE would be desirable.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to deliver engaging and well-structured lessons.
- A passion for History and inspiring young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
