Vision for Education is seeking experienced professionals to work as SEND Teaching Assistants in a mainstream primary school in Peterborough.
The Role - SEND Teaching Assistant
- Location: Peterborough
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
- Start Date: September 2026
- Contract: Full time preferred
Working as a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support children aged 2-11 with a variety of complex needs, including autism, physical disabilities and learning difficulties.
Responsibilities
- Providing one-to-one and small group support
- Aiding communication and classroom engagement
- Supporting mobility and physical needs
- Delivering personal care respectfully and sensitively
- Working closely with teaching staff and therapists to provide a nurturing environment
What we’re looking for
- Experience in care or support work (children or adults)
- A compassionate and resilient nature
- Confidence in providing personal care when needed
- Ability to commit to the school’s working hours
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Able to provide references, and proof of right to work and address
