Looking for a Year 6 teaching role where you can really make a difference?
We're looking for an enthusiastic, confident and committed Year 6 Teacher to join a friendly primary school in March on a full-time basis.
This is a long-term opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working with upper Key Stage 2 pupils and wants the consistency and responsibility of leading their own class.
Whether you're an experienced KS2 Teacher, returning to teaching after a career break, or looking for your next long-term teaching opportunity, this could be a great next step.
The role
As the Year 6 Teacher, you'll take responsibility for a Year 6 class, providing consistent, engaging and supportive teaching throughout the school week.
You'll plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge and motivate pupils while helping them develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need during their final year of primary school.
Starting in November, you'll have the opportunity to build strong relationships with your class and support pupils throughout the majority of their final year at primary school. You'll help them strengthen their knowledge across the curriculum, prepare confidently for their Year 6 SATs, and develop the independence and resilience they'll need for secondary school.
You'll also:
- Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons across the Year 6 curriculum
- Support pupils with a range of needs and abilities
- Help pupils prepare confidently for their Year 6 SATs
- Identify and address gaps in learning through targeted teaching and intervention
- Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress
- Create a positive, inclusive and purposeful classroom environment
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other members of staff
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
- Support pupils as they prepare for the transition from primary to secondary school
The school has a supportive staff team and is looking for someone who can quickly become an important part of the school community and provide pupils with consistency throughout this important year.
What we’re looking for
To be considered for this Year 6 Teacher role, you will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
- Experience teaching within a primary school
- Ideally, previous experience within Year 6 or Key Stage 2
- A good understanding of the upper KS2 curriculum and Year 6 expectations
- Experience supporting pupils with SATs preparation would be advantageous
- A positive and confident approach to classroom management
- The ability to plan engaging and appropriately challenging lessons for pupils with different needs and abilities
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to complete the required clearance
- Two positive references covering your recent teaching experience
