Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially KS5)
- Encourage student engagement with reading, writing, and analysis
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Manage behaviour in line with school policies
- Assess and monitor student progress where required
- Provide feedback to teaching staff and departments
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (essential)
- Experience teaching English in UK secondary schools
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to teach a range of texts, genres, and writing styles
