1:1 Teaching Assistant (Full-time, Temporary)
Manchester
£95 - £110 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner if available)
The School and Role
Are you a patient, caring and dedicated individual looking to make a real impact on a child's education? We are recruiting a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Manchester.
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will provide tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day. You'll adapt learning activities, encourage independence, promote positive behaviour and help create a safe and engaging learning environment where the pupil can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
You’ll play a key role in helping one child access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential within the classroom.
Requirements
The desired 1:1 Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school or SEND setting.
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to adapt to individual learning and behavioural needs.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
- Relevant safeguarding training (or willingness to complete this before starting).
- Experience supporting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH or other additional needs would be highly beneficial.
