SEND Learning Mentor - Lydney
Some pupils need a little extra encouragement to reach their potential.
Vision for Education is recruiting a compassionate SEND Learning Mentor to work alongside children who require additional emotional, behavioural or academic support within schools across Lydney.
Rather than focusing solely on classroom learning, you'll become a trusted adult who helps pupils overcome barriers to education, develop confidence and feel successful within school.
You’ll work closely with teachers, SENCOs and families to provide consistent support that enables children to thrive.
Your role
- Deliver one-to-one mentoring
- Support emotional regulation
- Encourage attendance and engagement
- Build positive relationships
- Support pupils during lessons and breaktimes
- Help children develop independence
Requirements
- Experience supporting young people
- Calm and resilient personality
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Understanding of SEND or SEMH (desirable)
- DBS (or willingness to apply)
