Smart Teachers is recruiting on behalf of a successful and inclusive secondary school in North East London seeking an organised and proactive HR Administrator to join its Human Resources team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator with strong organisational skills who is looking to develop their career within education.
About the Role
As HR Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the school's Human Resources function. You will ensure HR processes run efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, safeguarding and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the end-to-end recruitment process, including advertising vacancies, arranging interviews and processing pre-employment checks.
- Maintaining accurate HR records, including the Single Central Record, staff personnel files and absence monitoring systems.
- Coordinating DBS, barred list and safeguarding checks in line with statutory requirements.
- Providing administrative support for HR processes including induction, performance management, staff absence and payroll administration.
- Producing HR reports, maintaining databases and supporting wider administrative projects.
- Acting as a professional first point of contact for HR enquiries and supporting managers with routine HR administration.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will have:
- Previous HR administration experience, ideally including recruitment administration.
- Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and database management.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An understanding of safeguarding within a school environment or a willingness to develop this knowledge quickly.
