EYFS / Nursery Teaching Assistant - Stoke-on-Trent & North Staffordshire

Vision for Education are seeking caring and enthusiastic EYFS / Nursery Teaching Assistants to support children across primary schools, nurseries, and early years settings in Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stone, and the Staffordshire Moorlands. If you enjoy working with young children and are passionate about supporting their early development, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As an EYFS / Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support children within Nursery, Reception, and Early Years settings in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Work closely with class teachers, room leaders, and early years staff to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help children develop socially, emotionally, and academically.
  • Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence through play-based learning.
  • Assist with preparing resources and delivering age-appropriate activities.
  • Ensure safeguarding and welfare standards are consistently met.

This role offers flexibility, with day-to-day, short-term, and long-term opportunities available on both full-time and part-time bases from September 2026.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of EYFS / Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification, NNEB, or another recognised Early Years qualification. (Unqualified applicants with strong relevant experience may also be considered for some roles.)
  • Have experience working within a nursery, preschool, or primary school Early Years setting.
  • Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework.
  • Be confident supporting children's learning, development, and behaviour.
  • Possess a DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
