Vision for Education are currently recruiting for caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work across schools in Essex from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities and wants to make a positive difference to their learning, confidence, wellbeing, and development.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and the wider school team to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
- Support children to access the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities.
- Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities.
- Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional, and communication development.
- Help children develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
- Support pupils who may experience difficulties with communication, behaviour, emotional regulation, or learning.
- Adapt activities and resources to meet individual pupils' needs.
- Assist with classroom management and help maintain a positive learning environment.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and other professionals where appropriate.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children.
SEND Experience
Previous experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable.
You may have experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, learning difficulties, behavioural needs, sensory needs, or social and emotional needs.
The successful candidate should be patient, compassionate, and adaptable, with the ability to recognise that every child has different needs and may require a personalised approach.
Experience in a school, nursery, childcare, care, youth work, or similar setting would be beneficial. However, candidates with the right attitude and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs are encouraged to apply.
