The School and Role
We are recruiting for an experienced HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) for a primary school in Dewsbury to support across all key stages. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident individual who can step into a leadership role within the classroom and support teaching and learning across the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead whole‑class sessions in the absence of the teacher
- Deliver targeted interventions across KS1 and KS2
- Support lesson planning and assessment
- Mentor and support other teaching assistants
Requirements
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience (Level 6/Relevant Degree in Childhood Studies)
- Strong classroom management and leadership skills
- Experience across primary key stages
The ideal candidate will
- Have experience working with children
- Be patient, nurturing, and committed to supporting pupil development
- Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Be adaptable with a positive “can‑do” attitude
- Be confident supporting both individual learning and wider classroom activities
