About the role
Vision for Education are seeking dedicated and compassionate Youth Workers to join our team as cover supervisors, TA and Pastoral workers in local schools.
You will play a crucial role in schools supporting and empowering young people to achieve their full potential.
You will work directly with students, providing guidance, support in lessons and helping to help them overcome challenges and build a brighter future.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers
- Implement pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students remain on task
- Manage classroom behaviour addressing and managing challenging effectively to maintain a positive learning environment
- Provide support to students in their learning when necessary
- Liaise with teaching staff and management to ensure smooth operation of the school day
- Build positive and trusting relationships with youth
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants
Qualifications
- A degree would be an advantage
- Experience working with youth in a similar capacity
- Strong understanding of issues facing young people today
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
