Deputy Headteacher- Inclusion, Safeguarding and Culture
Salary: Β£95 - Β£100 per day (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications)

Location: Kingsbury, North West London (NW9)

We are working with a large Ofsted rated "Outstanding"specialist SEND school in Kingsbury North West London supporting children and young people with complex learning needs and disabilities. The school is committed to creating an inclusive, nurturing and ambitious environment, helping learners to feel safe, valued and supported to achieve positive personal, social and educational outcomes.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and inspirational Deputy Headteacher to join the Senior Leadership Team and work closely with the Head of School to drive whole-school improvement.

The successful candidate will have strategic responsibility for inclusion, safeguarding, attendance, behaviour, school culture, medical needs, therapeutic provision, family engagement and learner wellbeing, as well as deputising for the Head of School when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership across inclusion, safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Act as the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), overseeing safeguarding and child protection.
  • Lead whole-school approaches to Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), trauma-informed and relational practice.
  • Oversee attendance strategy, including persistent absence and EBSA.
  • Provide strategic oversight of EHCP compliance, Annual Reviews and SEND provision.
  • Lead therapeutic, medical and specialist support across the school.
  • Promote strong relationships with families and external agencies through effective multi-agency working.
  • Oversee personal development, enrichment and learner wellbeing.
  • Lead and develop senior staff, promoting high standards and continuous professional development.
  • Contribute to school improvement planning, self-evaluation and Ofsted readiness.
  • Provide effective leadership and assurance to the Head of School, Governors, Trustees and wider Trust.
  • Deputise for the Head of School when required.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced senior leader with a strong background in specialist SEND or complex educational settings, with proven experience in safeguarding, inclusion and behaviour leadership.

You will ideally have experience as a DSL or Deputy DSL, alongside a strong understanding of SEND legislation, Positive Behaviour Support and multi-agency working.

You will be a strategic, emotionally intelligent and resilient leader, with the ability to inspire staff, build strong relationships with families and professionals, and drive meaningful improvement across the school.
