Supply Teacher - SEN School - No SEN Experience Required

Coleford, Gloucestershire | £750 - £1000 + per week PAYE (dependent on pay scale)

Immediate Start | Part-Time or Full-Time | Flexible Opportunity

Ready to try something different in teaching?

Vision for Education is looking for a qualified Supply Teacher to support a welcoming specialist school in Coleford, covering a teacher’s absence.

If you’re a qualified teacher with experience in primary or secondary education and are open to trying something new, this could be a fantastic opportunity to broaden your experience in a supportive SEN setting.

The school supports children and young people with severe learning difficulties and complex additional needs. You’ll be helping pupils engage with learning, develop communication skills and build confidence and independence.

No previous SEN teaching experience is needed. The school welcomes teachers from mainstream backgrounds who bring an open mind, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Whether you’re looking for a change of setting, a new challenge or simply your next supply opportunity, this could be a rewarding role where you can make a real difference.

What will you be doing?

  • Providing teaching cover for a staff absence.

  • Delivering engaging and accessible lessons.

  • Adapting activities to suit pupils’ individual learning needs.

  • Supporting communication, confidence and independence.

  • Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff.

  • Creating a positive, safe and encouraging classroom environment.

  • Getting to know pupils and helping them feel settled and supported.

You’ll have the support of an experienced team around you, so you won’t be expected to know everything about specialist education from day one.

Who are we looking for?

We’re keen to hear from qualified teachers with experience in either primary or secondary education.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Previous classroom teaching experience.

  • A patient, adaptable and enthusiastic approach.

  • An open mind and willingness to learn.

  • Confidence managing a classroom and engaging pupils.

  • A genuine interest in helping children with additional needs reach their potential.

Never worked in SEN before? That’s absolutely fine. Your teaching experience is valuable, and the right attitude and willingness to adapt are what matter most.

What’s in it for you?

  • £810+ per week PAYE, dependent on pay scale.

  • Part-time or full-time options available.

  • Immediate start for the right candidate.

  • A welcoming school with an experienced, supportive team.

  • The opportunity to explore specialist education without needing previous SEN experience.

  • Valuable professional development and new teaching skills.

  • A rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference.

  • Ongoing support from your dedicated Vision for Education consultant.

Interested in giving SEN teaching a try?

If you’re a qualified teacher looking for your next opportunity and fancy a new challenge, we’d love to hear from you.

You don’t need to be an SEN specialist. Just bring your teaching experience, an open mind and a willingness to learn.
