Colchester from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children and wants to make a positive difference to their learning, confidence, and development.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to support pupils both academically and personally.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will
- Support the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons and activities.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
- Support children with
SEND and additional learning needs .
- Help pupils develop their confidence, independence, and learning skills.
- Support children's academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
- Assist with classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Encourage pupils to participate fully in classroom activities.
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual needs.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children.
- SEND Experience
- Previous experience supporting children with
SEND is desirable. The successful candidate should have an understanding of how to adapt their support to suit different learning styles and individual needs.
Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, learning difficulties, or social and emotional needs would be beneficial.
A patient, caring, and consistent approach is essential to help every pupil feel supported and confident in their learning.
