Vision for Education is looking to recruit a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to work within a welcoming and supportive specialist setting in Colchester.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEND.
  • Develop and implement personalised learning strategies to support academic, social, emotional, and communication development.
  • Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages confidence and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, parents, and other professionals to maximise pupil outcomes.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching methods to meet changing needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour through consistent and supportive behaviour management strategies.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and follow all school policies and statutory requirements.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or complex learning difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiated learning.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
