Vision for Education are currently seeking a caring, patient and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Chigwell.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and wants to make a positive difference to a pupil's learning, confidence and development.
The Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and school staff to provide tailored support to a specific pupil throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 support to a pupil in the classroom and during wider school activities.
- Supporting the pupil to access learning and complete classroom tasks.
- Helping develop the pupil's confidence, independence and social skills.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.
- Supporting the pupil's emotional and wellbeing needs.
- Adapting activities and providing additional guidance where required.
- Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to support the pupil's individual needs.
- Creating a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
About You
The successful candidate will be:
- Caring, patient and empathetic.
- Passionate about supporting children's education and development.
- Confident building positive relationships with pupils.
- Calm and consistent when managing challenging situations.
- Reliable, enthusiastic and adaptable.
- A good communicator who works well as part of a team.
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN or on a 1:1 basis is desirable but not essential.
Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN TA, Nursery Practitioner, Youth Worker or similar would be advantageous.
