Vision for Education are on the hunt for an experienced Teaching Assistant with a background of working with children with Special Educational Needs within the Burton-on-Trent area.
About the Role
Vision for Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support KS2 pupils with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Burton. This rewarding role involves working closely with individual students to help them access the curriculum, build confidence, and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's specific learning and emotional needs
- Assist with the delivery of lessons and adapt materials where necessary
- Support behaviour management strategies in line with the school's policies
- Encourage independence, social interaction, and engagement in learning
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO
- Monitor and record the pupil's progress
Requirements
- Be able to start as soon as possible, commit to working Monday-Friday, 08:30-15:30 until the end of the academic year.
- Experience working with children or young people (preferably in an educational setting)
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
- Have or be able to obtain a DBS Certificate registered to the update service.
- Be able to gain at least two relevant references covering the last 2 years.
