Vision for Education are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Sports Coach to join a secondary school in Burnley from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a Sports Coach looking to transfer their skills into mainstream education, delivering practical PE lessons alongside general classroom cover.
We are currently looking to appoint a motivated Sports Coach on behalf of a secondary school based in Burnley. The role will start in September 2026 and offers the opportunity to become a valued member of the school community.
The successful Sports Coach will have a passion for sport and will be responsible for delivering PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, as well as supporting the school with general classroom cover when required. You will have high expectations of behaviour and attainment and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. You will be confident managing groups of students and creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to transfer your existing coaching skills into the classroom and gain valuable experience working within a secondary school environment. Training and support will be provided to help you develop your classroom and behaviour management skills.

To be considered for the role of Sports Coach, you will:
- Have recent experience coaching or teaching Sport/PE.
- Have recent experience working with children or young people, ideally aged under 16.
- Have experience working with children for 5 days or more.
- Be committed, enthusiastic and keen to become a strong and supportive team member.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be confident managing groups of students and promoting positive behaviour.
- Be willing to deliver general classroom cover across the school.
- Have a genuine interest in developing your experience within a secondary school setting.

As a Sports Coach, part of our team, you benefit from excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system. (Daily rate is subject to your scale rate, experience in role and qualifications which will be discussed at the point of registration.)
