The Role
Vision for Education is seeking a confident and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a brand-new SEMH school in North Somerset, close to Bristol Airport. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting secondary-aged students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with students both in and out of the classroom, helping them to engage with learning, regulate their emotions and develop positive relationships. Every day will be different, and you'll play a key role in creating a safe, supportive environment where young people can thrive. The school follows a trauma-informed approach, so you'll need to build positive relationships, remain calm under pressure and use effective de-escalation techniques to support students when required.

Requirements
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour or additional needs.
- A calm, patient and resilient approach.
- Confidence building positive relationships and maintaining clear boundaries.
- Experience in education, youth work, residential care, support work or similar transferable roles.
- A willingness to learn and develop through ongoing training.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
