Primary Class Teacher to join a specialist

SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) primary school in North Bristol.

This is a full-time role starting on a supply basis through Vision for Education and is highly likely to become a permanent position for the right person.

The Role

The successful candidate will

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Create a calm, positive and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support their academic, social and emotional development.
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to encourage engagement and progress.
  • Differentiate learning to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, therapists and external professionals to support each child\'s development.

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you will

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have experience teaching within a primary setting.
  • Have experience working with pupils with SEMH or additional needs (desirable but not essential).
  • Be confident managing behaviour using a positive and restorative approach.
  • Be patient, resilient and committed to helping every child succeed.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
