Salary: Β£462.80 Per Week SEND Teaching Assistant Mowbray School, Bedale Ascent Trust

The Opportunity

Vision for Education is recruiting enthusiastic, caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistants to work at Mowbray School in Bedale, supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.

Vision for Education is the Managed Service Provider (MSP) for Ascent Trust, giving us access to opportunities across their schools.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop a career in education and SEND. Previous experience working in a school or SEND setting is not required. We are interested in people who have the right attitude, are passionate about supporting young people and are willing to learn.

You will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning, develop their independence and feel safe, supported and included throughout the school day.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, your role will include:

  • Supporting pupils in lessons and around the school
  • Providing individual and small-group support where required
  • Helping pupils engage with their learning and develop their independence
  • Supporting communication and interaction
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping create a calm, safe learning environment
  • Working alongside teachers and other support staff
  • Supporting pupils with their individual needs and development
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and helping them achieve their potential
