A 1-1 Classroom Support Assistant will provide personalised support to students with additional needs in the classroom. The school seeks a bubbly 1-1 Classroom Support Assistant who will be enthusiastic, patient, and caring. The role involves providing support and guidance to the student in their variety of learning needs and assistance with personal care/moving and handling with hoists. Delivering support to children aged 2 all the way through to 11 on a one-to-one basis. A versatile role means the ideal 1-1 Classroom Support Assistant will be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment, building a trustworthy and lasting relationship with a student, enabling the student to shine bright.

To be considered for the role of Learning Support Assistant you will:

  • Be flexible and available.
  • Ideally have your own transport or close public transport links.
  • Experience with both small group and 1:1 is beneficial.
  • Possess friendly and nurturing qualities.
  • Have competent behaviour management skills.
  • Have experience supporting children and young adults with a range of different learning needs and abilities – PMLD, MLD, ADHD, ADD, ASD, Global Delay, VI, HI, SEMH.
  • Preferably have moving and handling training or recent experience in this.
  • Have a patient and caring nature.
  • Have a desire to work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • Be willing to complete CPD training.

Salary: £445-£470 per week (£13.68p/h). Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: a desire to work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
