We are working closely with a school in the Leeds area who caters for a wide range of Special Educational Needs. Are you a compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young adults with special educational needs? A welcoming and well-resourced SEN school is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. In this role, you will be working closely with pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties, providing 1:1 and small group support to help them thrive. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and inclusive setting.
Requirements
- Ability to relate well to adults and communicate effectively at all levels
- Ability to deal effectively with students presenting challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques as appropriate
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- Knowledge and experience of behaviour management and restorative strategies
- Experienced and comfortable with personal care
- Having a driving licence is desirable for this role
