Residential Support Worker Location: Kent Employment Type: Full-time/Part-time Salary: £90 to £180 per day via PAYE Start Date: September 2026 Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN)? The role: We are working in partnership with SEN Schools across Kent, committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for students with SEN. The residential support workers play a crucial role in creating a home-away-from-home atmosphere, ensuring that every child receives the care and attention they need to thrive. They have 3 timetables avilable which include morning, day and night shifts. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with SEN in a residential setting. Assist with daily routines, including personal care, meals, and recreational activities. Implement individualized care plans and educational programs. Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages social, emotional, and educational development. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to ensure comprehensive support for each student. Maintain accurate records and reports on students' progress and well-being. Uphold safeguarding procedures and ensure the safety and welfare of all residents. Qualifications and Experience: Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a SEN or residential care setting. Manual handling experince and training completed - THIS IS A MUST A compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent) are desirable but not essential. A commitment to continuous professional development. Understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures.
