The Role – SEND Teaching Assistant

  • Location: Hob Moor Oaks SEN Primary School, York (Through Vision for Education)
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm (term time only)
  • Start Date: ASAP – Immediate starts available
  • Contract: Full time preferred, part time considered

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting children aged 2–11 with a variety of complex needs, including autism, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support
  • Aiding communication and classroom engagement
  • Supporting mobility and physical needs
  • Delivering personal care respectfully and sensitively
  • Working closely with teaching staff and therapists to provide a nurturing environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in care or support work (children or adults)
  • A compassionate and resilient nature
  • Confidence in providing personal care when needed
  • Ability to commit to the school’s working hours
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Able to provide references, and proof of right to work and address
