About the Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and welcoming Primary School in the Clifton Moor area of York. This is a full-time, long-term supply role beginning January 2026 and running until Easter initially, with the potential to continue for the right person.
In this role, you’ll be supporting children in Nursery and Reception as they start their educational journey. You’ll work closely with the EYFS team to create a nurturing, stimulating environment where every child can develop socially, emotionally, and academically.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting children during carpet time, play-based learning and small-group activities
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development
- Assisting with phonics, early maths and communication activities
- Helping to create a safe, happy and inspiring learning space
- Building strong relationships with staff, children and families
About You
We’d love to hear from you if you are:
- A positive, patient and caring teaching assistant
- Comfortable working with children aged 3–5
- Passionate about supporting early learning and development
- A strong communicator and team player
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and proactive
- Experience in an early years setting is desirable, but not essential.
