We've found that recent graduates or even undergrads get along brilliantly and are top of the list for most of our schools for staffing.

It is your role as a Cover Supervisor to encourage the classes learning, manage student behaviour, record accurate registers, and provide a handover to the absent teacher.

Successful Graduate Cover Supervisors are adaptable, flexible, motivated, confident, and organised, they have a passion for education and supporting young people.

You'll not be expected to be a subejct expert on any topic, just providing a postiive learning environment for all students to acheive the tasks set is key.

A Cover Supervisor will have the opportunity to work on a flexible schedule, either full-time or part-time.

This role provides a great opportunity to gain experience of working within a Secondary school prior to applying to Initial Teacher Training.

With many of our schools being part of a training consortium, it's a huge head start for the short-listing process!

Although previous experience of working in childcare desirable, it is not essential.

If you are new to the Graduate Cover Supervisor role, you will be offered a comprehensive Cover Supervisor Training Programme to equip you will the skills you need.

The desired Graduate Cover Supervisor will have

  • A degree or equivalent education.
  • Experience working with young people or a willingness to learn.
  • Leadership skills and confidence to lead a classroom of up to 30 students.
  • A passion for education and providing the highest possible level of support to young people.
