Vision for Education is seeking a caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Benfleet. Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND.
- Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning programmes.
- Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Supporting pupils with personal care where required.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based experience desirable but not essential).
- A positive, patient, and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, health and social care, or SEND support would be advantageous.
