Vision for Education is seeking a caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Benfleet. Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning programmes.
  • Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils with personal care where required.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based experience desirable but not essential).
  • A positive, patient, and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, health and social care, or SEND support would be advantageous.
