We are seeking an experienced and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a dedicated SEN school in Stoke-By-Nayland. This is a rewarding opportunity to take on a more advanced support role, working closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities under the direction of the class teacher
- Lead whole-class sessions when required
- Provide targeted support to pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, SEMH, and complex learning needs
- Support the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning plans
- Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress
- Mentor and support other support staff within the classroom
- Promote positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience
- Previous experience working within an SEN setting
- Strong understanding of SEN needs, including ASD and SEMH
- Confident leading lessons and managing classroom behaviour
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
