Are you a recent graduate seeking some school-based experience in secondary schools? Are you considering a long-term career in education and teaching?
Our partnering Secondary schools in Essex are seeking confident individuals who are passionate about education to work as Graduate Cover Supervisors. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on a flexible schedule, either full-time or part-time.
The lesson will always be planned, and this will be provided in advance. It is your role as the Graduate Cover Supervisor to facilitate the class's learning, manage classroom behaviour, record accurate registers, and provide a handover to the absent teacher. Successful Graduate Cover Supervisors are adaptable, flexible, motivated, confident, and organised; they have a passion for education and supporting young people.
This role provides a great opportunity to gain experience of working within a Secondary school prior to applying to Initial Teacher Training. Although previous experience of working in a Secondary School is desirable, it is not essential.
If you are new to the Graduate Cover Supervisor role, you will be offered a comprehensive Cover Supervisor Training Programme to equip you with the skills you need.
The desired Graduate Cover Supervisor will have:
- A degree or equivalent education.
- Experience working with young people or a willingness to learn.
- Leadership skills and confidence to lead a classroom of up to 30 students.
- A passion for education and providing the highest possible level of support to young people.
- Flexibility in their schedule and adaptability to teach at multiple schools.
