Working in partnership with a number of primary schools across Thurrock, we are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and motivated individuals who are passionate about supporting children and helping them achieve their full potential. Whether you have previous experience working with children through childcare, youth work, coaching, care, or voluntary roles, or are looking to take your first step into education, this programme provides an excellent route into the classroom.
About the National Teaching Assistant Programme
Our National Teaching Assistant Programme is designed to provide you with the essential skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to become a successful Teaching Assistant. The programme includes:
- FREE online training and development
- Practical experience within primary school settings
- Ongoing support from experienced education consultants
- Access to long-term and permanent opportunities
- Training to support pupils with a range of learning and additional needs
The Role
As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and within small groups
- Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Encourage pupil engagement and participation in learning
- Support children's social, emotional, and academic development
- Promote positive behaviour and independence
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
To be considered for the role, you will:
- Have a genuine passion for working with children
- Be patient, enthusiastic, and eager to learn
- Possess transferable skills from childcare, care work, coaching, youth work, customer service, or other people-focused roles
- Be able to build positive relationships with children and school staff
- Be committed to completing the training programme and developing a career within education
No previous school experience is required.
