We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in North Weald for a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to provide individual support to pupils with a range of additional needs. This rewarding role involves working closely with children who may have SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, and other learning needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential both academically and socially.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support tailored to each pupil's individual needs.
- Encourage engagement, independence, and positive behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school staff.
- Support pupils with learning activities, emotional regulation, and social development.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEND setting.
- Is patient, caring, resilient, and adaptable.
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
