Working in partnership with primary schools across Colchester, we are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and motivated individuals to train and develop into successful Teaching Assistants.
About the National Teaching Assistant Programme
Our National Teaching Assistant Programme is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to work effectively in a primary school setting. The Programme Includes:

The Role
As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils in the classroom, on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
- Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing
Requirements
- Have a genuine passion for working with children
- Be enthusiastic, patient, and willing to learn
- Have transferable skills gained through childcare, coaching, youth work, care, customer service, or other people-focused roles
- Be able to build positive relationships with children and staff
- Be committed to completing the training programme and developing your skills
- No previous school experience is required.
