We’re working with a lively and welcoming primary school in Newport that’s seeking skilled Foundation Phase teachers to join their growing team. Whether you’re after day-to-day flexibility, a part-time role, or a long-term position, there are exciting opportunities waiting for you.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm (term-time only)

Both full-time and part-time options available.

Role Overview

You’ll be working with Foundation Phase pupils in a school that values curiosity, creativity, and child-led learning. This role offers the opportunity to support early development through meaningful, play-based experiences. Both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons
  • Supporting individual learning needs and early development
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Building strong relationships with children, staff, and families
  • Adhering to the school’s behaviour, safeguarding, and wellbeing policies
  • Carrying out assessments and planning (for longer-term placements)

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK – ECTs welcome
  • Experience in or a genuine interest in Foundation Phase education
  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A positive, proactive attitude and a passion for early learning
  • Registration with the EWC (or willingness to register)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply – support available)
  • Driving licence and access to a car desirable but not essential
