We are looking for a patient and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a specialist SEN setting in Chippenham. This role is perfect for someone who genuinely enjoys helping children with additional needs and wants to make a positive difference each day.

The Role

  • Providing consistent 1:1 Teaching Assistant support, tailored to the specific needs of the pupil you are working with.
  • Supporting children with a range of needs including ASD, complex learning difficulties, sensory needs, communication challenges and physical needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional regulation and independence throughout the school day.
  • Assisting with personal care, feeding or mobility if required (training can be provided).
  • Helping to create a calm, structured learning routine that the pupil can rely on.
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff to follow individual plans and strategies.
  • Using communication tools, visual schedules or sensory equipment where needed.

Requirements for the 1:1 Teaching Assistant Role

  • Be patient, calm and adaptable.
  • Have some experience working with children or young people (formal or informal).
  • Be comfortable supporting children with complex needs, including personal care.
  • Be able to build trust and strong relationships with pupils.
  • Preferably hold a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply.
  • Be willing to take on further training and professional development.

Salary £88.92 - £100.00 per day, depending on experience.
