Vision for Education is recruiting for a Behaviour Support Assistant on a full time basis for a Mainstream Primary (within the SEN department) to start ASAP.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils in class, in small groups and on a 1:1 basis, using behaviour management skills to assist pupils to manage their behaviour and support them with learning.
- Pupils are aged 4‑11, many with EHCPs for Special Educational Needs & Disabilities and/or Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH) and associated needs such as Autism or ADHD.
- Create engaging, fun ways to support pupils and help them find school a safe, positive, enjoyable place to learn.
Requirements
- Desired: Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or Level 2/3 Early Years Educator.
- Desired: Able to drive.
- Prior school experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH or challenging behavioural needs.
- Confidence in behaviour management skills to de‑escalate threatening or aggressive behaviour.
- Ability to mentor and engage pupils, delivering specifically designed educational packages.
- Resilient, empathetic, patient, and not taking things too personally.
