As a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker on our in-patient gynaecology ward, you will play a vital role in supporting women through every stage of their treatment journey. You will work closely with nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals to create a positive, reassuring environment for patients during what can often be a challenging time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands‐on support with personal care, mobility, and daily activities, ensuring patient comfort and dignity.
  • Assist with basic clinical tasks, such as recording observations (temperature, pulse, blood pressure) under supervision.
  • Perform venepuncture and support gynaecological procedures and investigations, including preparation and after‐care.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment in line with infection control standards.
  • Monitor and manage stock and equipment, ensuring availability and functionality.
  • Accurately document care and activity using hospital systems.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals to deliver patient‐centred care.
  • Provide guidance to junior staff and contribute to a supportive team culture.
  • Be flexible to cover other areas within the gynaecology service when required.
