We are recruiting 5 Consultant Anaesthetists for our department at St Mary's Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will provide clinical services in anaesthesia, periāoperative care, attending theatre and preāoperative assessment clinics as part of a teamābased approach for adult patients.
- Clinical activities (8.5 PA per week) ā preāop assessment clinics, elective and emergency theatre work, periāoperative medicine including acute pain management, MDT meetings, and onācall activity.
- Supporting Professional Activities (1.5 PA per week) ā audit, clinical governance, teaching, research, educational supervision of junior staff and CPD.
- Onācall commitments: 1:12 rota (adults St Mary's), 1:10 rota (paeds St Mary's) and 1:15 rota (Charing Cross).
- Work in operating theatre, emergency department and remote sites such as MRI, CT and interventional radiology.
- Opportunity to participate in research, teaching, training, governance, leadership and QI projects.
Qualifications
- On the Specialist Register with a CCT (or equivalent) in Anaesthesia, or within 6 months of gaining a CCT.
- Outstanding anaesthetic skills with subspecialty interests (e.g., urology, regional anaesthesia, orthopaedics, periāoperative medicine, head and neck/airway anaesthesia).
Remuneration
- 10 PA per week for a wholeātime contract (8.5 DCC and 1.5 SPA).
- Onācall remuneration: Charing Cross ā 0.5 PA with 3% supplement; St Mary's adults ā 1 PA with 3% supplement; St Mary's paeds ā 0.75 PA with 3% supplement.
