Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is recruiting a Data Manager to join our Oncology Clinical Research Team. Working within a supportive structure led by the Research Team Leader and Research Operations Manager, you will help manage the team’s clinical trials administration and play a key role in delivering high‑quality cancer research. You will work closely with research nurses, practitioners and clinicians to collect, process and manage patient data across our oncology trial portfolio. The role also involves preparing for monitoring visits, liaising with trial sponsors, ensuring timely data transfer and resolving data queries that keep studies running smoothly. You will follow ICH GCP and local SOPs, contribute to feasibility assessments, support quality improvement initiatives, and maintain investigator site files and trial activity databases. We are looking for someone with an understanding of cancer diagnoses and treatments, and a genuine interest in developing specialist skills in oncology clinical research. This is a meaningful opportunity to support studies that directly impact patient care and future treatments.
Main Duties
- Be aware of and comply with ICH GCP as well as the legal requirements and other relevant guidelines for the conduct of clinical research.
- Ensure trial case report forms (CRF) are completed in conformance with ICH GCP guidelines and within appropriate timeframes.
- Assist the clinical team in preparing documentation for statutory inspections and coordinating arrangements with relevant trust departments.
- Liaise with pharmacy, pathology, imaging and other trust departments to obtain relevant trial information.
- Resolve data queries by liaising with responsible clinical research staff and monitors to eliminate missing or discrepant data.
- Communicate efficiently with clinical teams and trial sponsors regarding clinical trial data.
- Support the research teams in facilitating efficient, safe and participant‑focused research.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the life cycle of a research project from inception to study close‑out, supporting all protocol‑related tasks including accurate data capture and source data transfer to CRFs.
- Contribute to the recruitment of the local portfolio of clinical research studies.
