Currently looking for a Welder / Fabricator to join our Production team in Lakenheath.

Contract: Full time

Purpose of the position: Process and fabricate raw materials to create and build bespoke parts/products from Aluminium and mild steel as directed. Managing all tasks during the fabrication process, from start to finish, through to completion in production.

Day-to-day operations:

  • Machining fabrication materials and components.
  • Cutting and welding with a variety of processes.
  • Collaborate work with metal sheets and apply various insulation materials.
  • Evaluate all engineering drawings and ensure implementation according to welding specifications.
  • Analyse diagrams and specifications and cut all metal accordingly.
  • Perform work with help of various hand and power tools.
  • Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products.
  • Maintain a safe & clean workstation and perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
  • Adhering to all relevant health and safety standards and training protocols.
  • Attending any relevant training sessions as directed by line manager.
  • Other ad hoc duties as and when required and providing essential cover when other members of team are on leave.

QUALIFICATIONS: Recognised certification in MIG or TIG welding.

EXPERIENCE: 4-5 years’ on-the-job experience, working within the same role or equivalent.

SPECIALIST SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:

  • Solid fabrication background in Sheetmetal.
  • Ability to work on their own, as well as part of a team.
  • Helpful and approachable with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Problem solving | Critical thinking | Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of engineering.
  • Ability to work with your hands.

OTHER: Have a current full driving licence. Must have full access to transport to, from and during work.

Location: Lakenheath factory (Suffolk)

Job Type: Full time (40 hours per week)
