Visible Analytics is part of Newmarket Strategy, a specialist healthcare and life sciences consultancy.

Candidates for the medical writer position should have 3+ years’ writing experience in a relevant consultancy, medical communications role or related environment, or 3+ years in academia, clinical work or the pharmaceutical industry. Suitable candidates with less experience will be considered for the associate position. This is a permanent, full time position (though part time, minimum 80%, would be considered). The role will be UK-based, either hybrid (Visible Analytics Oxford office or Newmarket Strategy London office) or remote. Regular visits to the Oxford office will be expected, including for London-based and remote workers. UK and international travel may be required.

If you would like to apply, please send your CV and a covering letter, telling us about your scientific writing experience and why you think you would be suitable for the role. Informal enquiries are welcome. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to take a writing test. The closing date for applications is 7 June 2026.

About the role:

  • Developing compelling narratives rooted in high quality scientific evidence and established best practices
  • Managing multiple projects across different disease areas and project types
  • Effective communication within the company and with clients, supported by experienced colleagues
  • Frequent working in cross-functional teams, giving you the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of HTA, market access and product value

Candidate requirements:

  • MSc or PhD in a life science, biomedical or related subject, or BSc degree with relevant work experience
  • Excellent writing skills and eye for detail, and an aptitude for communicating complex scientific information clearly and concisely
  • Some demonstrable experience in scientific writing, whether as part of your university studies or in your current role
  • An interest in clinical evidence and health technology assessment and an inquisitive, analytical and resourceful approach to work
  • An understanding of clinical data and ability to interpret statistics is desirable but not essential (further training can be given)
  • Good organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks across multiple projects
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Commitment to meeting or exceeding our clients' expectations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

What we offer:

  • The chance to develop your career in an intellectually stimulating environment, as part of a dynamic and supportive team
  • Opportunity to work alongside leading experts in the field
