Visible Analytics are seeking a medical writer or associate medical writer to join our value communication team. Our medical writers deliver written and visual materials that effectively communicate scientific and clinical data to a range of audiences. You will research and write across project types, including health technology assessment (HTA) submissions (to NICE and other HTA bodies), value dossiers, manuscripts, posters, and slide decks. You will also assist health economists and statisticians with communication of their work, and contribute to client and project management.

Key responsibilities

  • Interpreting scientific and clinical data and creating suitable materials to communicate these data to a range of audiences
  • Developing compelling narratives rooted in high quality scientific evidence and established best practices
  • Managing multiple projects across different disease areas and project types
  • Effective communication within the company and with clients, supported by experienced colleagues
  • Frequent working in cross-functional teams, giving you the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of HTA, market access and product value

Candidate requirements

  • MSc or PhD in a life science, biomedical or related subject, or BSc degree with relevant work experience
  • Excellent writing skills and eye for detail, and an aptitude for communicating complex scientific information clearly and concisely
  • Some demonstrable experience in scientific writing, whether as part of your university studies or in your current role
  • An interest in clinical evidence and health technology assessment and an inquisitive, analytical and resourceful approach to work
  • An understanding of clinical data and ability to interpret statistics is desirable but not essential (further training can be given)
  • Good organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks across multiple projects
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Commitment to meeting or exceeding our clients' expectations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • 3+ years’ writing experience in a relevant consultancy, medical communications role or related environment, or 3+ years in academia, clinical work or the pharmaceutical industry for the medical writer position. Suitable candidates with less experience will be considered for the associate position.

  • This is a permanent, full time position (though part time, minimum 80%, would be considered). The role will be UK-based, either hybrid (Visible Analytics Oxford office or Newmarket Strategy London office) or remote. Regular visits to the Oxford office will be expected, including for London-based and remote workers. UK and international travel may be required.
