We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Material Specialist to join our Supply Chain Team. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders at all levels. Leading the procurement of direct goods and services for the organisation, you'll drive added value through seeking best commercial value, delivery and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage material planning and scheduling for direct material / commodities (for example Spec Gases, Grind wheels, Tapes, Pads, indirect materials and standard packaging).
- Point of contact between Procurement, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, and external suppliers.
- Ensure on‑time delivery of materials onsite.
- Monitor supplier performance against quality, cost and delivery.
- Resolve problem receipts that pertain commodities (DQFs).
- Maintain material safety stock levels (min-max) within MRP systems.
- Regular meetings with suppliers to identify any supply chain risks, including shortages and supplier performance issues.
- Collaborate with Procurement to support supplier negotiations and dual‑sourcing initiatives.
- Support new product introduction.
- Support Procurement Team with necessary documents required for Supply Chain Review Board.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or similar preferred. Working towards CIPS or CPIM qualification desirable.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in material scheduling or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of procurement software within ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Microsoft Office proficient.
- Ability to work effectively independently under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and inventory management techniques.
