We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Managing Director for our Onboard Weighing Division, based in our Bradford office.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes the worldwide sales direction for growth, in order to maximize market potential.
  • Negotiate contracts and meet with key/high volume customers.
  • Monitors margins and implement plans for achieving/exceeding budgets.
  • Participates at high-level meetings and sets forth policies and plans to achieve targets in sales growth, marketing, R & D and cost saving.
  • Develops budget and capital expenditure to be reviewed by the Division Head.
  • Creates Business Development plans to ensure continuous sales growth.
  • Leading and coordinating all aspects of the company’s technical, commercial, and operational teams and activities.
  • Ensuring that all development, manufacturing, sales and profitability targets are achieved while maintaining the company’s reputation for leading edge product excellence and delivering customer satisfaction.
  • Working with the management team, as well as major clients and prospects, sales agents and distributors.
  • Liaising with the Division Vice President to develop policies and commercial strategies.
  • Continuously examining and reviewing practices, systems, techniques, and procedures with the management team.
  • Coordinating with workload and activity of all functions.
  • Supporting sales and marketing colleagues and initiatives ensuring the production and dispatch of all finished goods on time.
  • Establishing the goals and objectives of the division and ensuring their delivery, according to the wider business plans.
  • Achieving financial sustainability during the development of the latest business opportunities.
  • Managing the performance of the organisation’s colleagues and senior management through effective key performance indicators, targets and goal setting.
  • Analysing and assessing continually the organisation’s performance against the stated objectives.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Engineering, Economy or Business.
  • Experience in the automotive market.
  • Highly experienced in sales and business development.
  • 5+ years experience at General Manager level.
  • Strong team ethic.
  • Ability to withstand pressure.
  • Works in an organised fashion, with the ability to shift priorities according to demands.
  • Experienced in managing remote teams.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe and North America.
