We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join our Supply Chain Team. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders at all levels. Leading the procurement of indirect goods and services for the organisation, you'll drive added value through seeking best commercial value, delivery and service.
What will you do (Key Responsibilities)
- Purchase order Management: Create, issue and manage purchase orders to ensure accuracy and compliance with department policies and guidelines.
- Cost Optimization: Negotiate pricing and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost-effective, on time procurement solutions without compromising quality. Continuously evaluate cost-saving opportunities and implement best practices for procurement efficiency.
- Discrepant Inventory Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders to resolve problem receipts.
- New Supplier Setup: Company POC instigating new supplier setup process.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality control, engineering, and finance teams to align procurement activities with production needs and overall business objectives.
- Reporting: Provide reports to internal customers to maintain accuracy in ERP system. Generating department KPIs.
What will you need
- Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or similar preferred. Working towards CIPS or CPIM qualification desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Skills & Abilities: Strong communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of procurement software within ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or similar). Microsoft office proficient. Ability to work effectively independently under pressure and manage competing priorities. Understanding of manufacturing processes and inventory management techniques.
