What You Would Be Doing
- SiC Process Development
- Lead the development and optimization of SiC unit processes, including ion implantation and activation anneals, oxidation, dielectric deposition, etch, wafer surface preparation, and metallization.
- Establish robust process windows, control plans, and specifications to meet electrical performance, reliability, and yield targets.
- Drive DOE-based experiments to understand process interactions and continuously improve performance.
- Manufacturing Ramp & Technology Transfer
- Own the transfer of processes from R&D to pilot and high-volume manufacturing, ensuring scalability and manufacturability.
- Support capacity ramp by improving cycle time, tool matching, and cost of ownership.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process and manufacturability challenges during ramp-up.
- Process Control, Yield & Reliability
- Implement advanced process control strategies, including SPC and fault detection systems.
- Partner with yield and quality teams to identify and eliminate yield limiters.
- Ensure compliance with automotive-grade quality and reliability standards.
- Drive continuous improvements in process capability (Cp/Cpk) and defectivity reduction.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of SiC process engineers.
- Define technical direction, priorities, and development plans aligned with business goals.
- Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making, accountability, and safety.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with device design, TCAD, equipment engineering, manufacturing operations, and quality teams.
- Serve as the key technical interface with equipment and material suppliers to drive innovation and problem-solving.
What You Will Bring Along
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field. Master or PhD is preferred.
- 8+ years of semiconductor process development experience, including SiC or compound semiconductors.
- 3+ years of technical or people management experience.
- Deep expertise in at least one core front-end or back-end unit process.
- Proven experience supporting process ramp to volume manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with SiC power devices (MOSFETs, diodes, JFETs) is highly desirable.
- Experience in automotive or high-reliability semiconductor manufacturing is highly desirable.
