Role Overview

The Vice President, Revenue & Commercial Operations (RCO) is a leadership role within Visa Europe, accountable for commercial effectiveness and operational excellence. The function acts as the orchestrator to ensure Visa Europe consistently delivers against its performance objectives and successfully executes its 2030 strategy, enabling alignment across all areas of the business. Reporting directly to the CEO of Europe, this role requires a leader with the credibility, judgment, and influence to operate at the most senior levels of the organisation while remaining deeply connected to business realities across diverse European markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the European sales performance and overall scorecard KPIs tracking, ensuring executive performance reporting is accurate and timely.
  • Provide actionable insights to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team in Europe to inform decision making and prioritisation.
  • Deliver regular business analytics such as client segmentation, client coverage, and other ad hoc analysis that supports the business needs.
  • Lead annual target setting process and provide the necessary tools for the business to track performance at all levels.
  • Sales Excellence & Commercial Enablement
  • Define and drive Sales Excellence across Europe, including sales enablement and internal communication.
  • Deliver targeted sales plays in conjunction with the functions, drive account strategy practice and execute global Sales Excellence initiatives tailoring them to European market needs.
  • Drive pipeline discipline, focusing on low performing areas, and forecasting to ensure sales targets are achieved.
  • Own implementation of the European VIK strategy in alignment with global transformation objectives.
  • Establish robust governance for VIK eligibility, and value realisation, partnering closely with Finance, Legal, Product and Sales to enable compliant, scalable VIK rich deal structures.
  • Implement and lead the newly formed Contract Engagement team, including leading the change management associated with the implementation of the new technical platform (Icertis). Hire and establish the new team in Europe.
  • Strategic Initiatives & CEO Business Operations
  • Act as a trusted partner to the CEO Europe on strategic planning, transformation, and execution rigor.
  • Lead the Chief of Staff to the CEO, who reports to this role.
  • Drive efficient operating cadence through MBRs, QBRs, ELT operating system and board commitments, ensuring all areas of the business are prepared and executive follow up activities.
  • Lead all client executive engagement activities for the CEO, ensuring the delivery of high-quality client briefings, talk tracks, presentations etc.
  • Lead complex, cross functional strategic initiatives requiring regional coordination, from diagnosis through execution.
  • Lead all pan regional internal and external events in conjunction with the Global Events team.
  • Process, Tools & Automation
  • Diagnose, design and deliver automation of commercial processes across the business.
  • Embed digital tools, AI, and self service capabilities into sales and deal workflows.

Qualifications

  • 15 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD).
  • Seasoned enterprise leader with the gravitas and judgment to operate at the most senior levels of Visa Europe, and the ability to orchestrate complex, cross functional outcomes at scale.
  • Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary, pan regional teams in complex, matrixed organisations.
  • Comfortable operating as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, with strong executive presence, influence and exceptional stakeholder management skills driving decisions without formal authority.
  • An orchestrator by nature, excels at connecting dots across functions, markets and initiatives while balancing strategic intent with operational delivery.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, with deep understanding of revenue drivers, sales productivity and performance management.
  • Highly tuned to business needs, pragmatic and outcome oriented, able to adapt operating models to different market realities across Europe.
  • An active listener with high emotional intelligence, able to absorb input, challenge constructively, and build trust at all levels.
  • Analytical and data driven, using insight to inform decisions while avoiding unnecessary complexity.
  • Proven change and transformation leader, with a track record of improving processes, embedding new ways of working, and scaling tools and automation.
  • Clear and compelling communicator, able to distil complexity into concise narratives for executives, teams and partners.
  • Inspiring leader able to develop a high performing, multidisciplinary leadership team across the several subdivisions (Business Performance, Sales Excellence, Strategic Initiatives, CEO office, VIK and Process Improvement).
