Role Overview

Visa is seeking a Senior Director of Product Management to lead our global foreign exchange (FX) product portfolio within Visa Direct. This highly visible role drives the strategy, development, and performance of one of Visa’s most critical product domains – our FX capabilities that enable businesses and consumers to move money across borders with speed, transparency, and control. The Senior Director is accountable for portfolio-level product outcomes, setting the vision, strategy, and investment priorities to deliver measurable customer value, adoption, and business impact on a global scale. This role acts as the connective tissue, ensuring cohesive solution delivery and long-term growth of FX platform for Visa Direct.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Portfolio Leadership: Define and evolve a global product strategy and vision for Visa Direct’s FX portfolio, focusing on high-impact, globally scalable opportunities and solutions. Identify and prioritize opportunities by synthesizing customer needs, market and competitor trends, regulatory requirements, and performance data to inform strategic investment decisions. Set and adjust portfolio-level investment priorities, clearly balancing near-term market needs with long-term platform scalability, security, and growth – ensuring resilience, compliance, and innovation in an ever-changing payments landscape.
  • Product & Platform Management: Own the end-to-end product lifecycle across multiple FX products, including Visa Direct Card, Account, Wallet and CurrencyCloud from concept and discovery through development, launch, and iteration, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across concurrent workstreams. Translate strategy into actionable roadmaps and outcomes by defining clear product plans, success metrics, and requirements for product teams, and aligning closely with Engineering to deliver capabilities on time and budget. Drive robust FX platform capabilities with strong performance and compliance standards, ensuring the platform scales reliably and securely across diverse markets and use cases.
  • Commercial Outcomes & Adoption: Drive post-launch success and ROI for the FX product portfolio – including global customer adoption, usage growth, revenue and margin performance, operational health, and return on investment – and course-correct as needed to achieve business goals. Proactively identify and eliminate adoption barriers, friction points, or performance gaps, collaborating across the organization to drive increased utilization, customer satisfaction, and successful client outcomes at scale. Make and communicate tough trade-off decisions across the portfolio – including deprioritizing or phasing out initiatives that do not meet strategic or financial objectives – to focus resources on the highest-impact opportunities aligned with Visa Direct’s vision.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence: Coordinate and align cross-functional efforts by resolving cross-product and cross-regional dependencies, ensuring a unified delivery and a seamless customer experience across all of Visa Direct’s money movement services. Partner closely with Sales, Solutions, Account Management, and regional teams to ensure the FX product strategy supports market needs, commercialization readiness, and client success across different geographies and segments. Collaborate with enterprise stakeholders – including Technology, Engineering, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and others – to ensure the portfolio meets global regulatory requirements, risk and security standards, and operational excellence. Represent the cross-border payments and FX product portfolio in executive forums and with external partners or clients as needed, clearly communicating the vision, strategy, and progress while gathering feedback and driving stakeholder alignment.
  • People Leadership & Development: Build and lead a high-performing product team by hiring, developing, and mentoring Product Managers and cross-functional contributors, fostering a culture of innovation, customer-centricity, and accountability. Drive team excellence and growth, setting clear objectives and high standards for product management practices. Provide ongoing coaching and create an environment of continuous learning, strong ownership, and creative problem-solving. Scale the organization’s capabilities by implementing best-in-class product processes and operating mechanisms embedded with AI that improve speed, quality, and collaboration across the FX product portfolio.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of product management experience (or equivalent) in payments, financial services, fintech, or related technology industries, with a history of delivering complex products in large, matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a portfolio or platform of products – defining multi-year product strategy, managing roadmaps and trade-offs, and delivering results that drive significant business outcomes.
  • Deep domain expertise in cross-border payments and FX – strong understanding of foreign exchange processes and considerations such as currency conversion and FX trading, pricing models, liquidity management, settlement workflows, treasury operations, and related risk and regulatory constraints.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills – experience leading and coaching product teams or product managers, with the ability to build talent pipelines and scale a product organization.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with strong commercial acumen to connect product decisions to business metrics (revenue growth, margins, ROI, customer satisfaction).
  • Outstanding cross-functional leadership and influence – track record of aligning diverse stakeholders (e.g., engineering, sales, finance, compliance, operations) and driving initiatives to completion in a complex, global, and agile environment.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence, with the ability to distill complex concepts and deliver compelling narratives that influence senior executives and external partners.
  • Adaptability and decisiveness – comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, making data-driven decisions with incomplete information and guiding teams through change.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a strategically critical product portfolio at the forefront of global payments innovation. If you are a visionary product leader with deep FX/cross-border expertise and a passion for delivering transformative payment solutions, help drive the future of global money movement with Visa Direct.
